Markoesa Hamer is a versatile, bilingual actor who studied in both London (Royal Central School of Speech & Drama) and Amsterdam (The Academy of Dramatic Arts & Music Theatre). Fluent in English and Dutch she has been leaving her mark on film, TV, and theatre since 2007.

She starred in numerous feature films like Torch Song (2024) and Moloch (2022), and played Marlene in Netflix’s How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast). She appeared on Dutch TV as Fleur in Koppensellers (2020) and delivered award-winning performances in Nesteltherapie (2020) and Hou Vast (2019).

Markoesa has built a diverse career, taking on roles in acclaimed films like Den Helder (2008, Gouden Kalf, Best TV Film) and Aanmodderfakker (2014, Gouden Kalf, Best Feature Film). She was a regular in the popular Dutch TV series Dokter Deen (2012 -2018) and the Comedy Central hit Popoz (2013 - 2014), including its 2015 film adaptation. Internationally, she’s worked on BBC series  Holby City (2014), the West End production In The Beginning Was The End (2013), and the short film A Beautiful Death (2012).
